PT's Oak Grove

We don't visit here as much as we like due to moving from the area. But whenever we have the chance it's an event. We always order the small tenderloin sandwich which has never changed with quality and flavor. They have a small, medium, and large version and the small is pretty big! You get the accompaniments of onion, pickles, tomato, lettuce and mayo along with fresh horseradish if desired. I always get their green beans that are phenomenal. This visit got side salad versus a pick from a wide variety of optional sides to pick from. I haven't had for a long time but they are famous for their huge onion rings that don't disappoint. Everything always comes out hot, fresh, and fast which I appreciate. When going here, don't forget to leave room for a piece of their homemade scratch pie!! We love their lemon marangue that tastes just like what my Mom used to make (seriously). If you've never been to PT's, do yourself a favor. You will leave planning your next visit sooner than later!

Excellent place to eat if you like good home cooking country food. WARNING: The onion rings are HUGE. The portions are good, price is good and everything here tastes great. Found this place on a trip from CO to KY. This will be my stop every time I make this trip. Thank you for the great food and service. 2023 Update: Ate here again this year and the food, service and portion sizes were very good. Onion rings are huge, crispy and very good. Enjoyed the double cheeseburger and peach pie too. I’m sure I’ll stop by here again next year. Thank you.

I ate here years ago, and my wife and I were hungry, and I was in the mood for mashed potatoes. We were about to go to Church's Chicken when I remembered this place. We drove from independence and arrived around 6 pm. When we walked in, they were maybe half capacity. We were seated promptly. The server was friendly and took our drink order. When the server dropped off our drinks, we were ready to order. My wife got chicken fingers, and I ordered pork tenderloin with white gravy. My wife has never been to this restaurant, so I added a half order of onion rings because you just have to have them! My wife loved the onion rings and said, ' I have to bring my parents here! ' ( they live in Alabama ) My wife really enjoyed our visit and I'm happy to remember this place I'd eaten at years ago. I definitely recommend this place. The Mac and cheese was wonderful. The onion rings perfect! The chicken fingers were tender and fresh. Everything was delicious, and the server was friendly.

The Burger and onion rings make this place a must stop. The bun is like a soft Kaiser roll, and the burger is a fresh formed patty. This place is simple but I am really impressed. The service is professional, fast, and incredibly accurate. The building is old and has a traditional restaurant look. But don’t let that deter you.

PT's has ALWAYS been a SPECIAL PLACE for our family. We would go here on Special Occasions, be it Someone's choice for their Birthday Dinner Out, an Anniversary Dinner, a Mother's Day, Father's Day, ETC, it has just been a SPECIAL PLACE to go. We went on Friday before Mother's Day. Got right in. Always get Excellent Service. There was No Waiting. Dad got the Mushroom and Swiss Burger which he Enjoyed. My Daughter got the Classic size Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. Incredibly Good, Juicy, and Tender. The Tenderloin is served up with Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, and Pickles. And for your Sauce you get Mayonnaise and the option to get Horseradish, which I had her get so I could have hers. And they Never Charge for the Sauces BUT they are ALWAYS on the SIDE. And myself, I got the Fried Chicken Sandwich. The Chicken Sandwich was so Juicy and Tender not to mention Awesome and Huge. They Hand Make them so they are Bigger and Better than well, most EVERY WHERE else. They Serve it up with Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, and Pickles. And for your sauce you get Mayonnaise and the option of getting Horseradish as well, which I Always opt for and there's No extra charge. I ordered Water for my Drink, so my Daughter and Dad did as well. At 3.?? Per drink it's not exactly cheap. And finally we got a FULL ORDER of Onion Rings. MISTAKE. We Should Have Gotten the HALF ORDER Since we had Plenty Left Over to Take Home. We EVEN Had the ONION RINGS Brought Out PRIOR TO Our Sandwiches. We took in with us my Cocker Spaniel Service Dog who slept under the table and my Service Kitten In Training who quietly slept in his Carrier between my Daughter and Myself. We ALL THREE had Incredible Meals, we had an Amazing time, and I had a Fantastic Early Mother's Day.

My wife and I had lunch at PT’s today, and we had a wonderful experience. Kate, our server, was polite, friendly, and very prompt with her service, which made our visit even more enjoyable. We both ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich with onion rings, and everything was excellent. The pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked—tender and flavorful—and the onion rings were abundant, served hot, and absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend PT’s for a great meal and outstanding service!

Feels like a nice little diner. The staff was really nice, attentive, professional, and friendly. The food was fresh and good. Would definitely be a good place to stop at if you’re traveling on the road and you’re looking for a classic American dining experience.
